GM's documentation requires calibration any time the windshield is removed on a Driver Confidence-equipped Enclave. That's the official position and we always inform customers of it.
Our recommendation: If you're using insurance, calibrate — cost is covered and there's no reason not to. If you're paying out of pocket, a non-calibrated replacement is a reasonable choice if the system was working perfectly before.
