Ford Bronco Windshield Replacement — Common Questions Answered

The most important things to know before you call, regardless of your Bronco's year or trim.

How much does it cost?
$280–$520 for glass only. $660–$1,400 with Ford Co-Pilot360™ ADAS calibration, which is standard on every Bronco from 2021 on.
Does my Bronco need ADAS calibration?
Yes. Every 2021–2025 Ford Bronco comes standard with Co-Pilot360™, which includes a forward-facing camera mounted behind the windshield. Calibration is required after every replacement.
Is the Bronco Sport the same glass?
No — the Bronco Sport is a completely different vehicle built on the Ford Escape platform. It has a different windshield profile. The full-size Bronco has a more upright, flatter windshield. Always confirm by VIN.
Do 2-door and 4-door Broncos use the same glass?
No. The 2-door and 4-door full-size Bronco have different windshield profiles and require different glass part numbers. We always confirm door count and VIN before ordering.
Does the removable top affect the windshield?
No. Hardtop, soft top, or modular top — the windshield is the same. The top attaches behind the windshield frame and does not affect the glass part number.
Will insurance cover it?
Yes — comprehensive coverage covers glass and calibration. We handle the full claim. Most Bronco owners with comprehensive coverage pay nothing out of pocket.
How long does it take?
60–90 min glass-only. 2.5–4 hours with ADAS calibration. Drive-away safe in 60 min with fast-cure urethane adhesive.
Can you come to my home or office?
Yes — free mobile service throughout Los Angeles. No driving a cracked windshield across town.

⚠️
Critical: Full-size Bronco vs. Bronco Sport — do not confuse. The Bronco Sport is an entirely different vehicle built on the Ford Escape platform. It has a more conventional, raked windshield profile. The full-size Bronco has a more upright, flatter windshield designed for off-road visibility. Shops that see "Bronco" on a work order and order glass without specifying full-size vs. Sport deliver the wrong product. We always confirm the exact vehicle by VIN before ordering — every time, no exceptions.
⚠️
2-door vs. 4-door windshield difference: The 2-door Bronco has a slightly different windshield profile than the 4-door. These are not interchangeable. When you call, we'll confirm your door count and VIN to ensure the correct glass is ordered. All trims within a given door count — Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Sasquatch, Raptor — use the same windshield.
🔍
Quick check: Every 2021–2025 Ford Bronco has a forward-facing camera behind the rearview mirror — Co-Pilot360™ is standard on all trims. If you own a Bronco, you need calibration. Share your VIN when you call and we'll confirm your exact glass part number, door count, and total price immediately.

Glass Options Explained

Ford Bronco Windshield Glass — OEM, OEE & Aftermarket

The right glass depends on your trim and whether you're keeping or leasing your Bronco. Especially important on the Bronco's unique upright windshield profile.

💡
Bronco-specific note: The Bronco's flat, upright windshield is more prone to rock chips than conventional raked windshields. This design choice — optimized for off-road visibility — means the glass takes impacts at closer to perpendicular angles. Quality glass with consistent thickness is critical for proper ADAS camera performance on this profile.

Our Honest Take on Bronco Calibration

Ford's manufacturer documentation requires calibration any time the windshield is removed on a Co-Pilot360™-equipped Bronco. That's the official position — and we always make customers aware of it.

In practice, we do perform non-calibrated replacements. In the vast majority of cases the system continues to function normally — the camera re-mounts to the same bracket in the same position. We've seen this consistently across many Bronco jobs.

Our recommendation: If you're using insurance, calibrate — the cost is covered and there's no reason not to. If you're paying out of pocket and your Co-Pilot360™ was working perfectly before, a non-calibrated replacement is a reasonable choice. If warning lights appear after the job, bring it back and we'll calibrate at cost.

Repair or Replace?

Ford Bronco Windshield Repair vs. Replacement — Which Do You Need?

The Bronco's upright windshield takes more direct hits from road debris — especially off-road. Here's when repair is technically possible and why we lean toward replacement.

✓ Full Replacement — Always Our Recommendation

  • New glass, clean seal, zero compromise
  • Backed by our lifetime workmanship warranty
  • New moldings and clips included every time
  • Required for any crack over 6 inches
  • Required for damage in driver's line of sight
  • The only safe option for ADAS Broncos (all of them)

From $280 · Same-day mobile available throughout LA

△ Repair — Technically Possible, But...

  • Chip must be smaller than a quarter
  • Not in driver's direct line of sight
  • Not within 3 inches of windshield edge
  • No spreading cracks, single impact only
  • No warranty — resin can fail or crack can return
  • Not recommended on any ADAS-equipped vehicle

$95–$150 · We'll always tell you if replacement makes more sense

Why Chip Repair Is Riskier on the Bronco

On any Bronco with Ford Co-Pilot360™ (all of them), the forward camera reads through the windshield glass. Even a chip that appears far from the camera field of view can cause calibration issues after resin injection — resin changes the optical properties of the glass in that zone, and Co-Pilot360™ can fail calibration or generate intermittent warnings as a result.

The Bronco's flat, upright windshield profile makes chips more common — debris hits at closer to perpendicular angles compared to vehicles with raked windshields. If the chip is within 8 inches of the camera mount area (top center of the glass), we will almost always recommend replacement over repair. The math is straightforward: a repair costs $95–$150 with no warranty. A full replacement with calibration through insurance typically costs nothing. We'll give you an honest assessment either way.

FAQ

Ford Bronco Windshield Replacement FAQ

Common questions from Ford Bronco owners across all trims.

How much does a Ford Bronco windshield replacement cost in Los Angeles?
Glass only: $280–$520 all-in. With Ford Co-Pilot360™ ADAS calibration (standard on every Bronco): $660–$1,400 total. OEM Ford glass is at the higher end. Call (626) 689-7975 with your VIN for an exact price in under a minute.
Does my Ford Bronco need ADAS calibration after windshield replacement?
Yes. Every 2021–2025 Ford Bronco comes standard with Co-Pilot360™, which includes a forward-facing camera mounted behind the windshield. Ford requires calibration after every windshield replacement. We perform this in-house with manufacturer-spec equipment.
Is the Bronco Sport the same as the full-size Bronco for windshield purposes?
No — they are completely different vehicles. The Bronco Sport is built on the Ford Escape platform and has a conventionally raked windshield. The full-size Bronco has a more upright, flatter windshield designed for off-road visibility. Ordering glass for the wrong one is a common industry mistake. We always confirm by VIN.
Do 2-door and 4-door Broncos use the same windshield?
No. The 2-door and 4-door full-size Bronco have different windshield profiles and require different glass part numbers. When you call, we confirm your door count (and VIN) to ensure the correct glass is ordered every time.
Does the Bronco Raptor need different glass than a standard Bronco?
The Raptor uses the same windshield as other 4-door Bronco trims. All trims within a given door count — Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Sasquatch, and Raptor — use the same windshield. We confirm by VIN every time.
Does the removable top on my Bronco affect the windshield?
No. Whether you have a hardtop, soft top, or modular top, the windshield is identical. The top attaches to the body behind the windshield frame — it does not change the glass part number or replacement procedure.
Will my insurance cover Ford Bronco windshield replacement in Los Angeles?
Yes — comprehensive auto insurance covers windshield replacement including ADAS calibration. For a Bronco where the total with calibration reaches $660–$1,400, most policyholders with comprehensive coverage owe little or nothing out of pocket. We handle the entire claim with GEICO, State Farm, Progressive, Allstate, Farmers, USAA, and all major carriers.
Can I drive with a cracked windshield in California?
A crack in the driver's primary line of sight is illegal and unsafe in California. The Bronco's upright windshield profile makes it especially prone to rock chips that spread quickly. Call us for a same-day mobile assessment anywhere in Los Angeles.
