Every cost component broken out. No surprise charges on your bill. The Expedition's large windshield — the biggest in Ford's SUV lineup — commands higher glass costs than smaller Ford models.
For any ADAS-equipped Expedition where the total reaches $700–$1,450, your comprehensive coverage almost certainly covers the full job — glass and calibration — with little or no out-of-pocket cost. The Expedition's higher glass cost makes insurance filing even more worthwhile than on smaller models. We handle claims directly with GEICO, State Farm, Progressive, Allstate, Farmers, and USAA.
📋 Start Your Insurance Claim →The Expedition's large windshield and HUD option on Platinum/King Ranch trims make glass selection more critical than on most Ford models. Glass quality directly affects ADAS calibration reliability on all Co-Pilot360™-equipped models.

Ford Co-Pilot360™ rollout on the Expedition was gradual on 2018–2019 models, then became standard from 2020. Here's exactly what it means for your windshield replacement.
| Co-Pilot360™ Feature | Uses Windshield Camera? | Affected by Replacement? |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-Collision Assist with AEB | Yes | Camera angle may shift |
| Lane Keeping System | Yes | Camera angle may shift |
| Lane Departure Warning | Yes | Camera angle may shift |
| Adaptive Cruise Control | Radar + camera | Camera angle may shift |
| Forward Collision Warning | Yes | Camera angle may shift |
| Blind Spot Information System | Side mirrors (radar) | Not Affected by Windshield |
| Heads-Up Display (Platinum/King Ranch) | Windshield projection zone | Wrong glass = HUD distortion |
| Rain-Sensing Wipers | Windshield sensor | Not Affected by Camera Cal |
Ford's documentation requires calibration any time the windshield is removed on a Co-Pilot360™-equipped Expedition. That's the official position and we always inform customers of it clearly.
In practice, many non-calibrated replacements result in a system that continues to function. The camera re-mounts to the same bracket in the same position. That said, the Expedition's large, more raked windshield — the biggest in Ford's SUV lineup — means the camera sits at a more extreme angle, and small variations in glass thickness or mount alignment have a proportionally larger effect on the camera's field of view. Calibration risk is higher on the Expedition than on smaller Ford models.
Our recommendation for Expeditions: If you have comprehensive insurance, always calibrate — cost is covered entirely. If paying out of pocket, we recommend calibration on any 2020+ Expedition or any 2018–2019 model confirmed with Co-Pilot360™ by VIN. If warning lights appear after a non-calibrated job, bring it back and we'll calibrate at cost.
📋 Using Insurance? Start Your Claim →On an Expedition, the answer is almost always replacement — and it's more urgent than on smaller vehicles. Here's why.
From $280 · Same-day mobile available throughout LA
$95–$150 · We'll always tell you if replacement makes more sense
The Expedition has the largest windshield in Ford's SUV lineup. Every square inch of glass under thermal stress is a potential crack propagation path. A chip repair on an Expedition buys you time — sometimes only 24 hours of time in July or August. Resin fill on a chip near the camera zone (top center) on any 2020+ Expedition can also cause calibration failure or intermittent Co-Pilot360™ warnings.
The math favors replacement: A chip repair runs $95–$150 with no warranty and no guarantee on the Expedition's large, fast-cracking glass. A full replacement with calibration through insurance typically costs you nothing. We'll give you an honest assessment — if a repair is genuinely safe, we'll say so. If it's not, we'll tell you why.
Your VIN is critical on the Expedition — it's the only way to confirm ADAS equipment, standard vs. MAX body, HUD spec, and exact glass part number.
The 17-character VIN on your dashboard (driver's side, visible through the windshield) or door jamb tells us everything — glass spec, standard vs. MAX body length, Co-Pilot360™ equipment, HUD availability, and acoustic glass requirement. One number, one call, done.
