Every cost component broken out. No surprise charges on your bill. The Sierra's large windshield commands slightly higher glass costs than smaller GMC models.
For any GM Safety Package–equipped Sierra where the total reaches $680–$1,450, your comprehensive coverage almost certainly covers the full job — glass and calibration — with little or no out-of-pocket cost. The Sierra's large windshield makes insurance filing even more worthwhile than on smaller vehicles. We handle claims directly with GEICO, State Farm, Progressive, Allstate, Farmers, and USAA.

GM's documentation requires calibration any time the windshield is removed on a GM Safety Package–equipped Sierra. That's the official position and we always inform customers of it clearly.
In practice, many non-calibrated replacements result in a system that continues to function. The camera re-mounts to the same bracket in the same position. That said, the Sierra's large, raked windshield means the camera sits at a more extreme angle than on smaller GM vehicles — and small variations in glass thickness or mount alignment have a proportionally larger effect on the camera's field of view.
Our recommendation for Sierras: If you have comprehensive insurance, always calibrate — cost is covered entirely. If paying out of pocket, we recommend calibration on any 2020+ SLE+ or Denali/AT4/Elevation Sierra. If warning lights appear after a non-calibrated job, bring it back and we'll calibrate at cost.
📋 Using Insurance? Start Your Claim →On a Sierra, the answer is almost always replacement — and the large windshield surface area makes it more urgent than on smaller vehicles.

$95–$150 · We'll always tell you if replacement makes more sense
The Sierra has a large truck windshield. Every square inch of glass under thermal stress is a potential crack propagation path. A chip repair buys you time — but in Los Angeles summer heat, that time can be very short. Resin fill near the camera zone on any 2020+ Sierra can also cause calibration failure or intermittent GM Safety Package warnings.
The math favors replacement: A chip repair runs $95–$150 with no warranty. A full replacement with calibration through insurance typically costs you nothing. We'll give you an honest assessment — if a repair is genuinely safe, we'll say so. If it's not, we'll tell you why.
Your VIN is critical on the Sierra — it's the only way to confirm cab configuration, generation, ADAS equipment, and exact glass part number.
The 17-character VIN on your dashboard (driver's side, visible through the windshield) or door jamb tells us everything — cab style, generation, GM Safety Package equipment, and exact glass part number. One number, one call, done.
