Mercedes documentation requires calibration any time the windshield is removed on a Driver Assistance-equipped vehicle. Given the stereo camera + radar complexity, we strongly recommend calibration on every ADAS-equipped Mercedes.
The stereo camera system is far more sensitive than single-camera systems used by Toyota, Honda, or Ford. Even minor shifts that might not cause issues on other brands can create problems with Mercedes stereo depth perception.
Our recommendation: Always calibrate on ADAS-equipped Mercedes vehicles. Use insurance — the cost is covered and Mercedes calibration is the most expensive in the industry. If your C-Class does not have the Driver Assistance Package, no calibration is needed.
