The 2020+ LEAF has Safety Shield 360 standard on every trim — calibration is mandatory, no exceptions. For 2018–2019 models, SV+ trims have it standard. The S base trim may lack ADAS — verify by VIN.
Our recommendation: Always calibrate on any 2018+ SV or higher and every 2020+ LEAF. Insurance covers it. The EV drivetrain has zero effect on the calibration process.

If the chip is within 8 inches of the camera mount area (top center of the glass), we will almost always recommend replacement over repair. The math is straightforward: a repair costs $95–$150 with no warranty. A full replacement with calibration through insurance typically costs nothing out of pocket.
