| Lane Departure Alert (LDA) | Yes | Camera angle may shift |
| Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) | Radar + camera | Camera angle may shift |

Toyota's documentation recommends static calibration any time the windshield is removed on a TSS-equipped 4Runner. That's the official position and we always inform customers of it.
In practice, most non-calibrated replacements result in a normally functioning system. The camera re-mounts to the same bracket in the same position. We've seen this consistently across many 4Runner jobs.
Our recommendation: If you're using insurance, calibrate — cost is covered and there's no reason not to. If you're paying out of pocket, a non-calibrated replacement is a reasonable choice if TSS was working perfectly before. If warning lights appear after the job, bring it back and we'll calibrate at cost.
Pre-2020 4Runner owners: You have no ADAS. No camera, no calibration, no extra cost. Period.
📋 Using Insurance? Start Your Claim →Full replacement is almost always the better call. Here's when repair is technically possible — and why we lean toward replacement.
From $250 · Same-day mobile available throughout LA
$95–$150 · We'll always tell you if replacement makes more sense
On a TSS-equipped 4Runner, injected resin changes the optical properties of the glass in the chip area. If the chip is anywhere within 8 inches of the camera mount (top center), resin fill can cause calibration failure or intermittent ADAS warnings — even if the chip appears "filled."
The math favors replacement: A chip repair runs $95–$150 with no warranty. A full replacement with calibration through insurance typically costs you nothing. We'll give you an honest assessment and never push you toward the more expensive option unless it's genuinely the right call.
